This time around, I've included SysEx files to assist with the tutorial, and I've updated the graphics to clarify what's going on.
I plan to have more material for the ESQ-1 episode as well.

wow...... very cool. This video is better than the last one I think.. I'm understanding it better. Let me go try and see if I can do it.
beautiful!
your videos are fascinating to watch. please keep them coming.
Fantastic. I have been looking for a good primer on making drum sounds with my MicroKorg. While it can't do all of what is presented here, this is a great start to hacking out my own patches. Finally oldskool Kraftwerk style drums for me!
wicked. can't wait to try this. amazing tutorial style you have, too. i really appreciate the visual aids like the animated envelopes changing :)
love it - saw it in sonicstate - please continue....
I love this vid, however i tried to do this on my microkorg and i couldn't get it to work at all ? is there any key differences between the synths ?
I don't think that the microKorg has a 3 track mod sequencer, which is necessary for the drum machine part.
You can still make a drum kit. I believe the microKorg can load MS2000 SysEx files, but I'm not positive.
The micro korg has no mod sequencer that is why you cant do this with the micro korg. The micro korg is limited to lfo drums if you want to have a multi timbral drum/bass patch.
beautiful. I let my brother borrow my MS2k for a long time, but as soon as I got it home tonight, I remembered this video!!
So now I'm trying it. and i get the drum part working right, but i can't seem get the split part right.
You make a split and F#4 and go to timbre 2 and you are playing all across the keyboard. but i can only play on the upper half.
what am i doing wrong?
im confused
i can make synth noises out of my machinedrum! if i had that korg then id make a video of making drums from a synth and synth from a drum machine
Very cool video, and very clear narration. Nice
Kudos man! You spent alot of time and got to know this wonderful machine. Most people downplay this as a toy of a synth incapable of anything more than the what the presets can do.
I respect the time you took to get the word out on the MS2000 and the passion you have for making great sounds for it.
I look forward to he ESQ1 which btw I have made some conjured up sounds most people thought came out of an Xpander. It and the SQ80 are two of the most underrated and well built synths post 70s.
